  • Notifications are considered an application for funding, not an application to the Ph.D. program.
  • A line on the Ph.D. online application form reads “Funding.” (To inform applicants that ‘I will finance my Ph.D. studies through other ways’).
  • In the section ‘Please provide specifics of any scholarships or grants you’re seeking or already received, You should mention that (you are applying for the School of Law Herchel Smith award).

Important Notes :

  • Candidates should take note that applicants should be aware that in the School of Law, unlike other Ph.D. programs offered at QMUL, there is no formal requirement that applicants make contact with any academic member to make arrangements for the supervision that is agreed upon before the submission of their complete application. Applications, at the initial instance, will be reviewed by Directors of Admissions and Research.
  • Suppose you wish to apply in the direction of Herchel Smith funding and have already submitted your application (without specifying that you want to receive one of our grants).   • However, the college’s online application process requires applicants to verify the name of a potential supervisor (in the “Research Proposal” section).
